The X - ray virial relations for relaxed lensing clusters observed with

چکیده
We examine the relations linking mass, X-ray temperature and bolometric luminosity for a sample of luminous, relatively relaxed clusters of galaxies observed with the Chan-dra Observatory, for which independent confirmation of the mass results is available from gravitational lensing studies. Within radii corresponding to a fixed overdensity ∆ = 2500 with respect to the critical density at the redshifts of the clusters, the observed temperature profiles, scaled in units of T 2500 and r 2500 , exhibit an approximately universal form which rises within r ∼ 0.3 r 2500 and then remains approximately constant out to r 2500. We obtain best-fit slopes for the mass-temperature and temperature-luminosity relations consistent with the predictions from simple scaling arguments i.e. M 2500 ∝ T 3/2 2500 and L 2500 ∝ T 2 2500 , respectively. We confirm the presence of a systematic offset of ∼ 40 per cent between the normalizations of the observed and predicted mass-temperature relations for both SCDM and ΛCDM cosmologies.

Mass and Gas Profiles in A1689: Joint X-ray and Lensing Analysis
We carry out a comprehensive joint analysis of high quality HST/ACS and Chandra measurements of A1689, from which we derive mass, temperature, X-ray emission and abundance profiles. The X-ray emission is smooth and symmetric, and the lensing mass is centrally concentrated indicating a relaxed cluster. Assuming hydrostatic equilibrium we deduce a 3D mass profile that agrees simultaneously with b...
متن کاملA Lensing Survey of X-ray Luminous Galaxy Clusters at Redshift
Aims. We present a wide-field multi-color survey of a homogeneous sample of clusters of 11 galaxies aimed at measuring their total masses and their mass distribution from weak lensing. Mass determinations, independent from X-rays measurements, are needed to calibrate the scaling relations of clusters, such as the M − T and the M − LX relations. Methods. The 11 clusters in our sample are all X-r...

We present results from a combined weak lensing and X-ray analysis of the merging cluster A1914 at a redshift of z = 0.1712 based on R-band imaging data with Subaru/Suprime-Cam and archival Chandra X-ray data. Based on the weak-lensing and X-ray data we explore the relationships between cluster global properties, namely the gravitational mass, the bolometric Xlay luminosity and temperature, the...
متن کاملSignature of the interaction between dark energy and dark matter in galaxy clusters
We investigate the influence of an interaction between dark energy and dark matter upon the dynamics of galaxy clusters. We obtain the general Layser-Irvine equation in the presence of interactions, and find how, in that case, the virial theorem stands corrected. Using optical, X-ray and weak lensing data from 33 relaxed galaxy clusters, we put constraints on the strength of the coupling betwee...
متن کاملCalibration of the Mass–temperature Relation for Clusters of Galaxies Using Weak Gravitational Lensing1
The main uncertainty in current determinations of the power spectrum normalization, σ8, from abundances of X-ray luminous galaxy clusters arises from the calibration of the mass–temperature relation. We use our weak lensing mass determinations of 30 clusters from the hitherto largest sample of clusters with lensing masses, combined with X-ray temperature data from the literature, to calibrate t...
